How to Make cranberry Juice
Visit any Swedish lunch table and you’ll never miss a glass of cranberry juice. Being in a foreign land does not in any way imply that you cannot continue to enjoy your favorite juice, considering that you can comfortably manufacture some for yourself. The main advantage here is the fact that you can customize it to suit your level of sweetness. There is however a certain format which needs to be followed and the first one is mixing one teaspoon full of fresh lemon juice and two cups of water inside a clean blender. The blender has to be clean to avoid contamination of the juice being made.
The next step involves adding four cups of cranberries to the mixture inside the blender. At medium speed, blend the whole mixture for between two to three minutes, or better still until a thick liquid has been achieved, such that there are no solid chunks visible. The lidded blender container is then placed in a refrigerator and allowed to stay overnight. The following morning, proceed to strain the contents of the container through a fine mesh and into a medium saucepan. Make sure that you discard any solid material. The main aim here is to get as fine cranberry juice as possible.
Into the saucepan add a cup of granulated sugar and then proceed to heat the whole mixture over medium flame for a minute or two, or better still until the sugar is completely dissolved. After you’ve removed the pan from the heat, add a single cup of cold water. The amount of water to be added will heavily depend on your preference though the lesser the amount, the sweeter the cranberry juice. Transfer the mixture into a drink pitcher and then chill in a refrigerator before serving. To speed the chilling process you could add some ice cubes.
