You can use Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey to make a Whiskey Punch, which is a great winter drink and also is known to help get rid of a cold or the flu. Also know as a Hot Toddy, this drink is a great drink to serve at your next holiday party or winter dinner gathering with friends. It is best made in a large batch and requires using a stove to heat and dissolve the sugar.

 

Whiskey punch is made using one liter of Irish whiskey, one cup of sugar, four lemons, eight whole cloves, and two cinnamon sticks. You will need to peel and slice the lemons and then place the peel into a large non-reactive saucepan. Then add the sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves and 3 cups of water to the saucepan. Heat the saucepan over medium-high heat on the stovetop and stir frequently to dissolve the sugar. Once the water to reaches a boil, turn the heat down to low and simmer for ten minutes. Strain the mixture and then return to the pan. Add the whiskey and heat but do not let the mixture boil. Serve in Irish coffee glasses with a slice of peeled lemon in each. This recipe will makes about eight servings if you are using Irish coffee glasses.
