Strawberry Crush - Drink Secrets

Strawberry Crush

Strawberry Crush

The original orange soft drinks were developed around the very early 1900’s by a gentleman by the name of J. M. Thompson located in Chicago Illinois. At that time there was only one flavor of soda and it was called Orange Crush. Thompson gave the soda its name because of the process of crushing the oranges to include the oil from the orange peels, thus enhancing the flavor. Even when the soda first made it to the market, it contained orange pulp from the crushing process. In 1916 Neil C. Ward and Clayton J. Howell partnered creating the Orange Crush Company.

After the 1960’s Crush was bought by Dr. Pepper/Snapple Company but still retained the original name. Other flavors started to emerge and Strawberry Crush was one of the new flavors.

Since then, people have used the different crush sodas to make some pretty interesting drinks using them for mixers. With so many different flavors of the Crush products, you could make so many unusual mixed drinks it wouldn’t be difficult to have a different one every day!

Here is a wonderful and refreshing drink using just two ingredients, one of which is Strawberry Crush.

Strawberry Splash

1 oz Smirnoff® Vanilla Twist vodka

2 oz strawberry crush

Serve in a highball glass and once you have added the Smirnoff, just stir a very little bit. The flavor is delightful and almost reminds you of the smoothness of a milk shake!

Try experimenting with your favorite alcohol beverage and using one of the Crush flavored drinks as a mixer. The fun will be to see what kind of awesome drink you can come up with! Many stores do not carry the Crush brand of drinks. There is however several websites you can actually order and they will deliver right to your door!
