Lemon-Lime Soda - Drink Secrets

Lemon-Lime Soda

Using Lemon-Lime Soda

Grabbing a bottle of lemon-lime soda can be very important when you have a party and are looking to stock your pantry for potential cocktails. A 2-liter bottle is very cheap and will open up the opportunities for you to offer more drinks are exponential. You will need to figure that one bottle will serve about four to five people, so depending upon how many people you'll have at the party, you may want to buy a few bottles.

Lemon-Lime Soda as the Non Alcoholic Option

Whether you are stocking a bar for a restaurant or for a party, you will always have people who are either recovering alcoholics or simply don't like alcohol hanging out by the bar. Part of the reason is because it's always more lively by the bar and that's where the best conversations happen. The other is because the bartender will always have something that they can drink that isn't a "kiddie" drink.

One of the best disguises is a glass of lemon-lime soda over ice. No one will question if they have alcohol in the glass and that person (or people) will be grateful for you looking out for them.

Lemon-Lime Soda For Cocktails

Some of the most common drinks that are made with lemon-lime soda are those that are cold, summery and served in a tall glass over ice. One such drink is the Lakeside Lemonade. You will pour lemon-flavored vodka, Grand Marnier and sweet and sour mix into a glass with ice. You will then add a splash of lemon-lime soda and cranberry juice for a delicious drink that you can cool down on hot summer evenings with.

The soda is also a key ingredient in all of the Fizz drinks. A whiskey fizz will use a shot of whiskey, some fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and then topped with the soda. To change it up, you can make a scotch fizz, a vodka fizz and even add in some fruit juices for a flavored fizz.

Lemon-Lime Soda as a Mixer

Some people are purists when it comes to their cocktails. They simply enjoy vodka or whiskey without mixing it with many other liquors or fruit juices. Yet many don't actually want to drink them straight, either. The solution is putting a shot of your guest's choice on the rocks and filling the remainder of the glass with some lemon-lime soda. You can truly keep it as simple as that. If you do want to add a little fruit or another drink, it can be added as well.

Lemon-lime soda is very versatile in the pantry because it's like having two ingredients in a single bottle. You have your carbonated soda water and your lime juice (or lemon juice) combined so that you don't have to have various products to make a great tasting drink. You're the bartender, so it's up to you to come up with great tasting drinks. It's an easy ingredient to get your hands on which means you have no excuses to try something unique with it.
